Jordan has a long, rich history. In fact, Jordan became a city over 150 years ago. It's name derives from the Jordan River in the middle east (separates Israel & Jordan). There are many historic buildings in the downtown antique store area several being on the National Historic Register. On the corner of Varner, Water and First Streets there is an old log cabin which will give you an idea of what early Jordan homes were like.
Lagoon Park features a waterfall, Mill Pond (watch the fish jump), playground, picnic areas and lots of grass and trees. A short paved trail connects Lagoon Park and the Mini-Met ballpark. Hills surround Jordan on 3 sides. The Minnesota River is nearby to the northwest. In addition to the natural beauty, you'll enjoy meeting the many friendly folks who make this their home.
Just east of Lagoon Park is the Mini-Met baseball park. In 2004 Jordan hosted the state amateur baseball tournament at this gorgeous ballfield. The hometown Jordan Brewers always seem to have a competitive team winning the tourney in 2004.
